Skills and plugins: extend what your AI can do

February 26, 2026 · 4 min read

Out of the box, your AI can reason, write, and answer. Skills give it the ability to do specific things—search your knowledge base, generate a report, draft an email in your style, process a file format. Think of them as apps on a phone: the device is useful alone, but the right apps make it powerful for the job in front of you.

Three scopes, one model

Skills are organized by who can use them: Common skills ship with Opisense for everyone, Organization skills are built by your team and shared across the workspace, and Agent skills are tailored to a single agent's role. A new agent inherits the common and org skills automatically; you add the specialist ones it needs.

Plugins assemble the pieces

A skill often needs a connector to do real work—email skills need the email connector. A plugin packages both and walks you through setup, copying the bundled skills into your library and connecting any apps they require. You get a capability set in a few clicks instead of assembling it by hand.

Both live in the Library, where admins curate the shared catalog and everyone else browses and copies. Skills extend an agent; workflows orchestrate several—that is the line. To plan your catalog, talk to us.
